"Do you need to wee wee?" She says while pointing to the potty

"Wee" He says while nodding

"Go and sit on the potty, please"

He pulls his boy briefs down, hands at each end and sits on the grey potty. He stands up and pulls his briefs back up.

"Well done! You did wee wee in the potty!"

They both clap their hands.

Transparency Tuesday: Not a great day

I sometimes forget that just like us, our kids can have not so good days. Maybe they're just not in the mood... they're a little bit more sensitive today, or something has just really upset them and they have just decided they will cry until they decide they want to stop. There was a day I picked up Jeremiah from nursery and I realized that he was a bit tearful. One of his teachers told me he pinched one of his classmates and they told him off.. but they told me he was ok at storytime.. When he got dismissed... all he was doing was crying. Well... shouting. lol. Wailing. So I gave him a hug and a kiss and we went. Still crying. I tried to butter him up with some juice. Gave it to him.  Cried after inhaling the juice. At this point I know he wanted a little bit of attention... Still shouting/crying. So at this point until we got home I just came to the conclusion he has decided this is what he wants to do. lol. Transparency Tuesday: Comparing

Now that Jeremiah is in mainstream school... he's getting homework, and things to practice at home so I've taken it upon myself to get extra aids to support his learning. Slowly but surely with repetition and patience he is getting there and doing really well. I had a parents evening for both of the boys  couple of weeks back.. and both of their teachers do not have any concerns about them. Doing practices with Matthew (he's in nursery), there are certain areas that he is stronger in than others. Speaking to his teacher, they are currently working on mark making with numbers/number recognition.  H's taking a little bit of time to recognize numbers (or so I thought). Jeremiah caught onto numbers so quickly-- it took minimal effort on my part.. but with Matthew I found myself getting frustrated and angry at him because he needs to 'get it'. So much so I found myself comparing him to his brother... forgetting he is a completely different child.. and the way he take...

Transparency Tuesday: Going back to Nursery.. or not?

So.. the time for Jeremiah to go back to nursery is steadily approaching.. and I am still in a very indifferent mind frame in regards to him actually going back. The date is set, the time is set.. everything is already in place... it's just to wait for the day for him to go back. I have some worries. Jeremiah started nursery at the beginning of this year. It took him a little extra time to settle in because of the new surrounding and not having me around. Just when lockdown was about to go into full throttle, this is when Jeremiah was just getting into the swing of nursery and grasping onto the routine. I was actually HURT. Because now as he will be going back.. I'm thinking will he just go back like normal? He has a pretty good memory so I'm just hoping once he sees the park we walk past and the roads that we have to cross.. he will immediately remember that this is his nursery and just jump right back in. What I am a little worried about as well is that they have changed ...
